How To Stop Resisting Your Own Financial Freedom

This article will help you to start identifying and letting go of your resistance to financial freedom.

Resistance to financial freedom is just another feeling that you can let go of with your preferred method of emotional releasing, whether it’s EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), The Sedona Method, Release Technique or whichever you personally prefer.

Often we’ll begin a business project that could lead to financial freedom with determination and enthusiasm but then give up somewhere around the middle?

Financial Freedom Financial Freedom Why? You’ve hit resistance. Resistance is probably the main barrier that prohibits people from having, doing, and being what they want in business and in life. We don’t just resist the things we don’t like, we even resist things we want and care about. Occasionally you may even put off a trip to your favorite restaurant because something has triggered your resistance. And if someone, even if it’s you, instructs you that you must perform some action towards your financial freedom, that's a certain method of producing resistance, whether you want to do it or not. When you were a child you probably didn’t like it when your mother told you to do something that you wanted to do anyway, because it made you not want to do it any longer. When you’re told that you should or must do something, what feelings does it stir up in you? You think: "No way! Don't you tell me what to do!" This can also happen if you tell yourself what you must do. For example, if you were to say to yourself: "You have to stop eating junk food" what happens? You want to eat it all the more. That just seems to be the nature of the human mind. It doesn't like it when it’s told what to do. Since we live in a world full of "shoulds", "have to's" and "must do's", resistance is being activated continuously. Any time you receive an order like that, wherever it comes from, it triggers resistance. Some of the ways in which resistance can appear are subtle, such as when you forget something that’s important to you. Or you may find that you gradually move away from activities that help you such as a new money-making blog you’ve just started that could lead to your financial freedom. You may find that you’re loving writing your blog for example and the money’s starting to come in, but then six months later you're barely posting anymore. Why? Again, you’ve hit resistance. Resistance doesn't just pop up when you’re working on financial freedom of course. It gets activated in your life all the time. In extreme cases you may find it hard work just to get out of bed in the morning. Whenever you’re feeling resentment at having do something or feeling that you should do something, you're coming up against resistance. The "should" generates an opposing force to the one you’re creating when you’re trying to get yourself to do something that often outweighs it. The answer is to stop all the "shoulding" on yourself and other people. Start to notice where resistance appears in your life. As you notice it, allow yourself to welcome it. Don’t just welcome the resistance to financial freedom itself, but also the feeling that you want to get rid of it and the feeling that the resistance is part of you and who you are. Then allow it all to dissolve as best you can. This is the Sedona Method’s approach to letting go of resistance. There are others such as EFT which can also work. Experiment and find which works best for you. You’ll find that even when you feel completely lost in resistance to your financial freedom, you can still notice the flow or openness that is also present. It may feel very small, but if you focus your awareness onto it, you’ll find it rapidly expanding such that you can let go of resistance to financial freedom much more easily.
