The film was written by Kristen Lazarian and directed by Michael Goorjian and stars Wayne Dyer who explores the spiritual journey of the second half of life when many people want to find the purpose that is their unique contribution to the planet. The film looks at ego constructs we are taught early in life by parents and society, which emphasises achievement and the accumulation of wealth and contrasts these ideals with a life of meaning, focused on serving and giving back. Filmed on the spectacular Monterey Peninsula in California, The Shift, which has also been released under the title "From Ambition To Meaning" captures the mid-life longing for a more purposeful, soul-directed life that many people encounter. “Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life.
